Review from Juno Download.. "If you're already aware of this Irish label's output, then most of 085 will appeal to you. Indeed both "Aurora" and "Empty Room" adeptly capture what Gobsmacked is all about. Stomping, at times doubled-up beats lay the basis for bursts of white noise and building air raid sirens that suggest a youth spent listening to hard Robert Armani-style ghetto techno and as well as big room minimal. "Zubr" is similar in sound, but the approach is different with the focus on a visceral bassline. However, "North Pole" shows that Gobsmakced also delivers the occasional surprise and its more laid-back tempo, coupled with atmospheric sound scapes, shows that the label isn't solely about peak-time bangers." O Meara and Orion come at you with some blinding and intense but dark and strangely wonderful techno genre busters. O Meara who was branded by Tillate magazine as 'One of Techno's brightest new stars' as a result of his productions also produced Dave Clarkes No1 track of 2010 and is also fresh off the bat from releases on Naked Lunch, Nachtstrom Schallplatten, Mastertraxx in early 2011, not to mention dozens of remix's. Gobsmacked 081 comes at you like a train but leaves you grooving like a jigsaw once the infectious modern style techno grabs you by the throat and chucks you onto the dance-floor.

Gobsmacked Nov/Dec 11
Once more, we make our way through the cold and dark depths of winter, with only our semi-deafness and mild tinnitus to keep us company. These months have been pretty quite for us overall, because we're planning some massive techno for 2012. Our Gobsmacked releases and Gobsmacked style techno tracks and podcasts, not to mention events, will be coming at you from all angles.
